Here we are at the Port Hudson float yard on Dick Karnes' former New York, Westchester & Boston Railroad. The Ingersol-Rand-GE diesel switcher is removing hopper cars from the car float preparatory to stashing them in the float yard at the right rear. The flat car is an idler, necessary for the switcher to reach the cars without venturing onto the car float itself, thus risking overturning. The flat car was a Rex Engineering kit. The gantry, float apron, float, and tool shack (foreground) were scratchbuilt by Bob Christopherson for his erstwhile S scale layout.

The locomotive consists of a Great American Locomotion superstructure kit, a Pennsylvania Heritage variable-wheelbase chassis, S Scale Lhttp://localhost/NASG/Layouts/index.phpocomotive & Supply Reading tender sideframes, and a lot of scratchbuilt and commercial parts. The radiator grids, for example, are formed computer cables. The prototype for the locomotive is CNJ No. 1000, which resides in the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore.
