Fred Schlegel has recently expanded the number of switching operations on his layout by adding the Valasek Coal Co. one-car coal dump. The hopper is loaded at the Hudson Coal mine at the other end of his layout.
Fred scratchbuilt the Valasek main building and the dynamite building. The dynamite building is near the top of the gravel road that Fred "excavated" from the existing scenery he already had in this corner of his layout.
Fred removed the sections of ties out of the track to be able to dump the coal in the storage bin below. The handrails were also built from scratch. Finally, he added a number of details to complete the scene.
