Taking a step back in time, here's Scott's layout under construction.

This view shows the line-of-sight down the center of the layout. Note the flip-up extensions. There is one in the back, by the door, on the right, which allows for continuous running. There is another one, barely visible in the lower right-hand corner of the photo, that completes the continuous-running circle.

Turning left, this is most of the left side of the layout.

This shows about 90% of the entire layout in one view. The layout's design is a very effective use of space, where the room is, essentially, divided in half by two doors in the center at opposite walls.

The Greenville & Northern #75, a GE 70-ton switcher, heads south in the town of Travelers Rest, South Carolina.

This photo was taken at the January 2026 Prototype Rails 2026 in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where Scott displayed this Greenville & Northern mini display. The engines are models he built from the Smoky Mountain Model Works GE 70-ton switcher kits. The G&N's engines were built between 1947 and 1951. The hopper and box car models are custom-decorated.
