Notes:
Dennis started in S in 1950 when his parents gave him a basic American Flyer 4-4-2 Atlantic freight set. He played with it on the basement floor, so never had a layout. By 1960, he had collected 25 boxes full of engines, rolling stock, and track from neighborhood families that were giving them away. While in the Navy, Dennis' father sold his collection for enough money for Dennis to be able to buy a 1953 Ford. Fast-forward to 2012 when he happened by an antique store called Nasty Jack's and sitting on the main counter was an AF "Mountaineer Freight Set". It came from an estate sale and the set had just been marked down for a quick sale. Two full shopping bags came home with John, which included a Pacific #383, a freight car, and a caboose. He has been an active model railroader ever since. This layout lasted from 2012 to 2014.
