Drop-equalized roller bearing. The sideframes of this truck were designed by Dick Karnes. He also made the master pattern. Train Stuff (then owned by Don Thompson) did the actual casting, on behalf of Cascade, using a low-temperature zinc alloy called "S1". Don does not remember why that alloy was chosen, but he does remember that he didn't like it as much as pewter, as the details are better preserved when using pewter. Cascade was the only company that sold these to the general public (i.e. not Train Stuff; they were just the behind-the-scenes manufacturer). Scale wheels only.
