Tall dome. The November/December 1989 issue of the Narrow Gauge And Short Line Gazette has an article about CONX #8. Ten models were made by Samhongsa, Korea for each road number. These were factory-painted and lettered. Other road numbers available were: 5, 8, 10, 11, 22, 25, 26, 27, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47. Another run of these cars was done in 1996. Manufactured by Samhongsa of Korea.

Named after "Grampa Hughes" of the Hughes oil field west of Chama, NM, these were frameless tank cars. Operated up into the 1960s. These models were available in painted 5-packs (road numbers 88169 - 88173) and unpainted 6-packs.

This model is of the narrow frame version. 6,000 gallons. The kit includes trucks, decals, and Kadee #29 couplers. These models were available in painted 5-packs and unpainted 6-packs. The August 1996 issue of the S/Sn3 Modeling Guide has a product review, which includes information about building this kit. Prototype note: the July/August 1978 issue of the Narrow Gauge And Short Line Gazette has an article about narrow gauge tank cars by Bill Winans that covers the UTLX car, both narrow frame and frameless.
