The unit in the foreground shows the pre-production model. The one in the background is the #779 production unit. An early production version had the top surface painted gray, but that was later dropped in favor of the one-color approach shown in this photo. Other differences in the early production runs were the six steps as opposed to the four steps, and the cast metal drums which were later replaced with aluminum drums. The second photo shows the inner workings of the pre-production model.
