In the late 1950s, Kemtron considered producing enough parts to build an S scale Maryland & Pennsylvania 2-8-0. Kemtron got as far as producing a complete kit for the Ma & Pa tender, plus numerous components for the locomotive, including cab, smokebox, frame spacers, domes, etc. However, the set of parts was never completed.

The model was built by Bob Garrelts for Dick Karnes. Dick applied the details and finished it for his private-name railroad (New York, Westchester & Boston). Dick's model uses SSL&S tender trucks, Microscale decals, MV lens, and S-scale Kadee couplers.
