Old Pullman

Track

Notes:

Old Pullman imported S-scale track components from a Swiss manufacturer.

According to Jeff Wilson (owner of Hoquat Hobbies), American Models had a deal with Old Pullman to make turnouts and crossings. They were made for Old Pullman by the Swiss company, and American Models packaged them, adding ties and a template. When American Models stopped doing that, Hoquat Hobbies took the process over. Eventually the Swiss Franc-to-US dollar's exchange rate changes made them too expensive to sell in the US.

American Models had used RIT dye to color the ties, and so Hoquat Hobbies continued that method. However, they received complaints from customers that their rail would turn green from the dye.

Jeff reports that when he closed Hoquat Hobbies and sold his remaining inventory to Des Plaines Hobbies, a few of the Old Pullman crossings that never sold went along with the inventory. So, if you are interested in any of these, contact Des Plaines Hobbies to see what they still have available.
