This is essentially a flat car with a removable shroud that protects two glass-lined tanks. This model represents the later version that had fins only on the ends of the shroud. This version's brake wheel is attached to the shroud. The SouthWind models arrived unpainted with a clear, semi-gloss lacquer applied. The shroud is attached with four screws from below. At the time these cars came out, River Raisin Models had appropriate decals available for the three known prototype lettering schemes. The model IDs are as follows:
SWRI-7: one car (end fins).
SWLE-7: two cars (end fins).
SWLE-8: one SWRI-6 and one SWRI-7.
