Product Review:

3/16 "S"cale Railroading, Oct 1990, pg 13

Notes:

This is essentially a flat car with a removable shroud that protects two glass-lined tanks. This model represents the original 1936 version that had fins on both the top and the ends of the shroud. This version's brake wheel is on a dedicated stand. The SouthWind models arrived unpainted with a clear, semi-gloss lacquer applied. The shroud is attached with four screws from below. At the time these cars came out, River Raisin Models had appropriate decals available for the three known prototype lettering schemes. The model IDs are as follows:
SWRI-6: one car (full fins).
SWLE-6: two cars (full fins).
SWLE-8: one SWRI-6 and one SWRI-7.
