They had cast-on round lifting rings. Decals were furnished lettered for SOO Line Container Service only. Note that not enough decals were supplied to apply them to both sides of the containers.
Prototype Notes:
Gondolas need to have steel spacers put on the floors to separate these and keep them from moving during transit.

At the time of photography, Ed Kirstatter was in the process of removing the cast-on handles from the top loading hatches to be replaced by brass wire ones. Also note that the decals are not in their correct position; they should be up on the corrugations of the containers.
