Michael bought this kit on eBay. The paint job is rather amateurish by today's standard.

The label shows 'Super Scale'. Current speculation is that maybe at some point in time Super Scale Models bought the Dayton Model Products product line.

Notes:

This freelance model's kit comes with the body, chassis, interior and exterior details, thin plexiglass (for windows), and brass wire (for grab irons). The model has been designed to take a single NorthWest Short Line Stanton drive #39812-4 (S-scale drive with 36", code 110 wheels). The body was designed for the Kadee 802 couplers. Wire runs for the headlights are built into the model (the modeler needs to supply the wire and the LEDs).

This shows the basic kit built, but a new roof was built for it to house the flashing yellow light. Many details were added to enhance its overall look.

Product Type:

Brass Kit

Finish:

unpainted

Wheels:

scale

Notes:

The model is of brass construction and must have been a kit of etched parts that were formed only needing to be soldered together. Three soft metal castings for the headlight, stack, and the sandbox were included. The drive is a Pittman motor mounted on top of the frame. The drive drives spur gears down to a worm shaft. Electrical pickup is by wipers on top of the insulated drivers. A bit crude by present-day standards.
