This is part of the model that Ken was able to find at an S-Spree show. He has cleaned it up in preparation for painting. This particular model came with one Tyco truck, and is gauged for narrow-gauge (the original kit was designed to use an HO-scale truck).

Paul painted and lettered his model for the Tidewater Southern. The letters are individually cut out from Micro-Scale alphabet decals. Paul's model has two Northwest Short Line Stanton Drive-powered trucks installed. He comments that they run very nicely.

The body is made out of plastic, and the mechanism uses a modified Athearn drive system. The kit was originally made in three versions: 4-wheel-drive, steel chassis; 8-wheel-drive, RTR brass chassis; DC, hi-rail. General Electric manufactured about 350 of these engines, which were capable of pulling 5 or 6 cars.

This is the original unpainted model.
