Termed the "Deluxe Hopper Conversion Kit", Iron Rail Models sold a kit that made it possible to convert any A.C. Gilbert two-bay hopper into a "scale" version. The kit consisted of:
- two die-cast sprung friction bearing trucks
- two bolsters
- brake equipment (air reservoir, triple valve, brake cylinder, trainline, wire, brakewheel)
- brass grating for the brakewheel platform
