Many "scale" modelers adopted this coupler for use in S-scale equipment before dedicated S-scale couplers became available. These are compatible with the company's #802 and #803, as well as other brands' couplers. The trip pin is too short for use with the company's Magne-Matic system in S-scale. Note that many Sn3 modelers use this coupler.
