Holt Apgar's model is the older kit version. He made a few modifications, such as painted the roof and roof walk with Model Master flat black enamel, used 0.03 inch K&S brass rod for the curved side hand rails, and the short vertical rails on the ends of the main body, and painted all safety hand rails with yellow enamel. Window glazing was added. Working hi-rail couplers were added from his spare parts.
