Notes:

The kit consists of the basic wood parts you build into a box. The modeler then applies the rivet-impressed aluminum sides and diecast metal ends and doors. The doors can be made to open. Cast metal parts are included, and directions are given to completely detail the brakes. The ladders are stamped brass and look good enough to use with a little filing. The trucks included are of Midgage's own make of a sprung Bettendorf type with brass wheels. The wheels were set to the old NMRA gauge, so they do need to be re-gauged to the NASG's current gauge.

Ed Kirstatter used wire to replace the cast-on door handles. He also used the door stops from the Des Plaines Hobbies/SSA PRR X29 kit. The model was painted with Duplicolor red primer, and Krylon Clear. The MC/NYC decals came from leftover parts of the F&C gondola and several other car kits. Ed used Kadee S-scale #808 couplers.
