Paul Washburn stated that he used P-B-L's Star Brand paint "Faded D&RGW" box car red (part #STR14), and S Scale America decals (part #SSADD&RGW).

Jim describes how he built this car in the referenced magazine article. He used Tichy Train Group decals, S-Helper Service couplers, and Bettendorf T-section trucks of his own design.

The next four photos show Jim's model, built by Dave Felmley, to highlight where all of the detailing parts go on the model, which may not be self-evident from the kit's instructions.
