Bill Winans recalls that when the American Models FP7 was first released (the company's first public product), it had bad-looking sideframes ever. With Sunset Models' permission, Bill cannibalized a Geep's sideframes to make replacements in pewter. These were done to the correct 9'0" wheelbase, but when applied, one has to look very closely, but the wheels were not perfectly centered to the journals. Bill sold a couple of hundred sets. However, when American Models later came out with their much better plastic version, Bill stopped casting more of his, and they have been long out of production.
