Kemtron Tenders

Road Name:Maryland & Pennsylvania
Product Type:Craftsman Kit
Model Online Article:visit site
In the late 1950s, Kemtron considered producing enough parts to build an S scale Maryland & Pennsylvania 2-8-0. Kemtron got as far as producing a complete kit for the Ma & Pa tender, plus numerous components for the locomotive, including cab, smokebox, frame spacers, domes, etc. However, the set of parts was never completed. The model was built by Bob Garrelts for Dick Karnes. Dick applied the details and finished it for his private-name railroad (New York, Westchester & Boston). Dick's model uses SSL&S tender trucks, Microscale decals, MV lens, and S-scale Kadee couplers. The online article link shows the January 1967 S Gauge Herald product review. The second photo is by Steve Monson, which shows the unpainted original tender from a different perspective, and uses the original brass trucks.
