This 18-section car, termed by Midgage Models a "roomette", is one of several Pullman streamlined 1940s-era cars made by Midgage, and later re-released under the new owner's renamed company, "Sylvania Models". These kits, marketed in the late-1940s, early-1950s, consisted of extruded-aluminum carbodies, cast white-metal ends, extruded magnesium skirts, a wooden floor, sprung Nimco soft-metal four-wheel Commonwealth trucks, dummy couplers, and eight screws. The model shown has been extensively detailed. The original door, with a window inline with the rest of the car windows and delineated simply by vertical scribe marks, was cut out and replaced with styrene doors of the correct configuration. All the roof vets are handmade, as are the working diaphragms. Hand grabs, strap steps, and end railings were added. Trucks are American Models Commonwealth with B.T.S. brass details. Couplers are San Juan Car Shops "Evolutions". The models were described in the March 2005 issue of the S Gaugian.
