Like most other model railroading scales, the world of "S" has a number of diverse segments. These segments include but are not limited to modelers who model in standard gauge and in several narrow gauges (two foot(Sn2), three foot(Sn3)), and three and one-half foot (Sn42). In standard gauge, S scale modelers have adopted several different wheelsets (profiles) depending on their modeling interests. These wheel profiles include:

American Flyer & American Flyer compatible (aka hi-rail),
Scale (typically code 110),
and even some Proto:64

As a result of the mix of modeling interests in S, those entering this scale have a number of choices. On this set of pages we're attempting to outline the range of products of that have been produced in S. The entire catalog for the scale is very large and spans over forty years and a variety of manufacturers.
