This was the first Rex product as produced by the original owner, Bert Carpenter. The model was still in production in 1992! Both a scale and a hi-rail model were produced. The model was based on the B&O 0-4-0. The product was reviewed in the March, 1962 S Gauge Herald (see the Supplementals 2 link). The product was still in the S&P Distributors (subsequent owners of the Rex product line) catalog of 1968 (see Supplementals 1 link). The model was re-run in 1989 (as per news announcement posted in the 1988 Model Railroader magazine) by Rex' new owner Putt Trains. The Photo #2 is of Bob Werre's model. The prototype was nicknamed "Little Joe". More photos and information can be found in the October 1992 issue of the 3/16 "S"cale Railroading magazine.
