Product Type:Brass
Used rubber belt drive system. The shell is made up of several pieces. The frame, platform, and hand rails are one piece. The cab and the hoods each are separate pieces. There are two flat "can" Canon motors inside the hood, one at each end. This was one of the last models manufactured in Japan (before brass manufacturing moved to Korea). The models came unpainted. Bob Werre took a photo of Sam Powell's model and it made the cover the October 1991 issue of the 3/16 "S"cale Railroading magazine.

Manufacturer:Ken Kidder
Category:GP7
Road Name:New York Central (NYC)
Product Type:Brass
Truly a rarity. Ken Kidder, erstwhile importer of O- and HO-scale traction models, imported three copies of a brass S-scale EMD GP-7, superstructure only, in the late 1940s. The four original fan grids on this model were brass furniture tacks! Owner Dick Karnes re-detailed the body to resemble a NYC GP-18, and married it to a Port Able Lines (later Cascade Hobby Products) powered GP-7 chassis. Truck sideframes are Enhorning Blombergs. Decals are Microscale. MV lenses, HO Kadee couplers.
