This model was reviewed in the December 1982 Model Railroader issue by Jim Hediger. He stated that the model matched all scale dimensions of the prototype engine. Jim stated, "The paintwork is well done, but the lettering and striping tends to break up a bit where it has to conform to raised details". With the Sagami motor, the engine drew 0.4A at 12V, and slipped at 0.54A at 12V. He reported a 3.14 scale miles per hour as the slow speed, and top speed was just slightly slower than what a prototype FP7 could do. It came pre-installed with Kadee HO-scale #5 couplers. Their review sample was lettered for the Union Pacific. Photo #2 shows both the A- and B-unit. Photo #3 shows Bob's UP unit modified to represent a Milwaukee Road unit with Walthers O-scale decals used. Available in the following configurations:
- single A-unit.
