This car was produced by F&C for Central Hobby Supply (under their "West Shore Line" brand name). 12-hatch, 4-bay covered hopper car kit. The kit consists of resin castings, assorted wire, and decals. This model was built and detailed by Dick Karnes (apologies for the missing stirrup step). American Models sprung Bettendorf trucks (not included with the kit), and S-scale Kadee couplers were added to complete the model. Photo #2 is by Brian Nicholson. He bought the kit, but replaced the stock roofwalk and brake wheel with an etched-metal one of his own design and making. He also built the roof latch locking system using prototype photos as a go-by. The unpainted model clearly shows the added details.
