The original kit consists of a urethane body with a wooden floor, and cast-metal details. No trucks or couplers were included with the kit. Jim reworked his model by stripping it of its paint job, adding more details, and re-painting and re-lettering it for a later version of the PRR X28. For the decals, Jim used the correct CDS S-311 set and supplemented them with X31/X33 decals from Des Plaines Hobbies. The model in the photo still needs to have Dullcote applied as well as some weathering. The Pennsy used these to transport automobiles. Nearly all 5,000 X28 box cars were converted back to a single 6-foot door car by 1935, and re-classified as X28a. Photos #2 and 3 show Bill Lane's model (bought as-shown) from slightly different angles.
