A.F. Product Gallery: Track: #26756

Manufacturer:American Flyer
Manufacturer ID:26756
Road Name:Bumpers
Year Introduced:1961
The #26756 was produced from 1961 through 1964 in only one variation. At first, the #26756 appears to be identical to the #730 that was packaged differently and given a new number. After a careful examination of both the #730 and the #26756 (see Photo #2), you will note that the copper color clamp-on spring tabs that connect to the track rails have a different shape. In 1961, Gilbert began producing their Pike-Master line of track that needed a bumper. By changing the design/shape of the copper clamp-on spring tabs that connect to the rails in order to pick up power for the bumper light, the new #26756 was now able to be used on both the standard "T" track as well as the new Pike-Master line of track.
