The #953 heavyweight combine was produced from 1953 through 1958 and has three variations. The first variation made in 1953-4 is painted green over either a white or a cream body and has no silhouettes. The second also made in 1953-4 is painted tuscan over a cream, gray of black plastic body and has no silhouettes. The third variation, shown in the photo, was produced in 1955-8 is painted tuscan over either a cream or black body and comes with silhouettes.

The AFL Columbus Combine Car #960 without a Color Band was produced in 1953 and 1954 in four variations. The first variation, shown in the photo, was produced in 1953 which has a Chrome finish over either a black, white or cream body. The three remaining variations were all produced in 1954. The first of these variations has a satin silver painted finish over either a white or black body. The second 1954 model also has a satin silver painted finish over a chrome-finished black plastic body. The last of the 1954 has a satin silver painted finish over a chrome-finished white plastic body. The wording "BAGGAGE" above the windows has been painted over and the car was re-lettered "AMERICAN FLYER LINES".
