The main photo shows 625 SEPX and 625 CRCX. Photo #2 shows 625G. These are three examples/variations of the 1951 through 1953 Gulf tank cars. All of which have weighted link couplers and die-cast metal frames. Note that the 625G was an uncataloged item.

Photo #3, #33683, is a custom reproduction of what would have been the 1954 Celanese Tank Car with a tan and yellow paint scheme instead of the correct light green and yellow paint scheme. The car utilized a #635 Shell Tank car, which was repainted, the link couplers were replaced with reproduction knuckle couplers that use split rivets to attach the coupler to the trucks. Note the orange TCA "Altered Sticker" on the bottom of the chassis.

In the foreground of the main photo is an example of an early 1952 Gulf tank car with riveted knuckle couplers. The middle Gulf tank car was produced from 1953 through 1956. Both of these 925 Gulf tank cars have diecast metal frames. The tank car in the background is a 1956 model with a plastic frame. Very few #925 Gulf tank cars were produced in 1952 with knuckle couplers. The ones that were produced in 1952 have knuckle couplers that are riveted to the trucks. Photo #2 shows the underside of all three 925 Gulf tank cars. The bottom one is the foreground one in the main photo, and the middle one is the middle one in the main photo. Photo #3 shows a #925 Ted relettered to an SP&S Trumbull Asphalt car.

The 1959 Gulf tank cars all came with knuckle couplers. The two differences in these cars is that the more common unit has a solid, non-operating knuckle couplers and a Type II plastic frame like the ones used on the #24309 and #24310. The more uncommon model has a Type III plastic split tank frame where part of the frame makes up part of the tank bottom, as the tank itself is open on the bottom.

The #24325 was produced as an uncataloged item in 1960 only. There are five variations:
1. Type II frame, solid, non-operating couplers, no ladders, handrails, or markers (see main photo).
2. Type II frame, PikeMaster couplers, ladders, handrails, and two markers.
3. Type III frame (lower, black section), solid, non-operating couplers, no ladders, handrails, or markers (see Photo #3).
4. Type III frame (lower, black section), PikeMaster couplers, ladders, handrails, and two markers (see Photo #2).
5. Type III frame (lower, black section), solid, non-operating couplers, ladders, handrails, and one diamond marker.
