Produced from 1950 through 1953, in seven variations. Two of the variations were made in 1950 both of which have red unpainted cabs; one has a black boom while the other, as shown in the photo, has a green boom.
The second photo taken by Ed Kirstatter of Jack Sudimak's model, which he modified into a PRR Wreck Crane. It has been partially converted to scale operation and appearance with the application of brass Buckeye 6-wheel trucks, S Kadee couplers, and paint and decals. This represents a Bucyrus-Erie 250-ton capacity crane that is diesel powered.

The #944 Industrial Brownhoist Crane Car was produced from 1952 through 1957 in three variations. It was one of only seven cars produced in 1952 that had American Flyer's new knuckle couplers. The first variation, shown in the photo, has a gray painted car body. The second variation has a metallic blue painted car body. The last variation has "AMERICAN FLYER 944" printed on the right-hand side of the car body as opposed to the left-hand side shown in the photo. Carl McAbee did some prototype research and found engineering drawings of this car. The A.F. model is a spot-on accurate model of the real thing, except, of course, for the couplers and trucks. Of course, the A.F. version has molded-in exterior details, but their placement and dimensions are accurate.

Produced from 1952 through 1957. Eight variations were produced, but only one of which was produced in 1952. Shown in the photo are two variations. In the foreground is the 1952 model, which carries the road name of "AMERICAN FLYER" This car was only available in 1952 as part of the K5210 American Flyer Four-car freight set. Although the illustration in the catalog shows a #645, the car that was part of the set is the one shown in the photo. The #945 shown in the rear of the photo carries the road name "AMERICAN FLYER LINES" which is typical of all of the other seven variations of the 1953-57 models.

The #25071 was produced from 1961 through 1964 in two variations. The first variation, shown in the photo, has lettering on the car. The second is unpainted gray plastic and does not have any lettering on the car. In 1961, the #25071 that was sold separately, came with two track trips; one for new Pike-Master track and a second trip to be used with the older style track. See Photo #2 for examples of each. Photo #3 shows a close-up of the two different style trips.
